Costa Rica verlangt von ausländischen Anbietern digitaler Dienstleistungen, sich für die Mehrwertsteuer registrieren zu lassen, wenn sie digitale Dienstleistungen für Verbraucher in Costa Rica erbringen.
Nur Unternehmen, die beim Finanzministerium (Ministerio de Hacienda) für die IVA registriert sind, können MwSt.-Rückerstattung . Die Ausgaben müssen in direktem Zusammenhang mit steuerpflichtigen Geschäftstätigkeiten stehen.
MwSt.-Rückerstattung über die monatliche IVA-Erklärung (Formular D-104). Die Vorsteuer auf Einkäufe wird von der Umsatzsteuer auf Verkäufe abgezogen. Übersteigen die Guthaben die Verbindlichkeiten, wird das verbleibende Guthaben vorgetragen. In bestimmten Fällen (z. B. bei Exporteuren) sind Rückerstattungen möglich.
Die Umsatzsteuererklärung wird monatlich mit dem Formular D-104 eingereicht. Die Zahlungen sind bis zum 15. des Monats fällig, der auf den Steuerzeitraum folgt.
