Upcoming integration connects hotel invoice collection with VAT reclaim processing, helping corporate travel, finance and tax teams remove friction and reduce manual administration.
MANCHESTER, UK, 4 November 2026 – Conferma, the global leader in virtual card technology for business travel, today announced a partnership with VAT IT, experts in VAT recovery and tax compliance solutions, to make it simpler for businesses to recover VAT on hotel spend.
Once available, the integration will enable customers to transfer hotel invoice data collected through Conferma’s invoice collection service, Snap+, directly to VAT IT for reclaim processing. Now supported by Conferma’s direct API connectivity with hotel property management systems, Snap+ helps customers collect and process invoice data more efficiently. Connecting the services will create a more streamlined workflow from hotel payment and invoice capture through to VAT recovery.
VAT reclaim can be difficult to manage at scale, particularly for businesses operating across multiple jurisdictions. Eligibility rules, documentation standards, submission formats and deadlines vary by country, while recoverable VAT may be spread across high volumes of hotel invoices.
Incomplete or inconsistent documentation can prevent otherwise eligible claims from succeeding, meaning VAT recovery may be missed, delayed or rejected. Global travel spend sits at over $1.7 trillion, with 44% of recoverable VAT never claimed.
For finance, tax and business travel teams, the challenge starts with obtaining the right invoice. The integration is designed to reduce that friction by securely passing hotel invoice data collected through Conferma directly into VAT IT’s reclaim process, supporting a more complete and consistent route from invoice capture to recovery.
The integration will help customers:
The companies will share further information about availability and customer access as the integration progresses.
Stuart Davenport, Chief Product Officer at Conferma, said: “Linking invoice capture directly with VAT IT’s recovery expertise will help customers reduce administration and improve the completeness of the data available for eligible VAT reclaims. It’s another step towards making business travel payments and the processes around them simpler and more connected.”
Scott Steenkamp, Partnerships Director at VAT IT, added: “Businesses can miss VAT recovery opportunities when invoice data is incomplete, fragmented or difficult to process. Connecting hotel invoice data collected through Conferma with VAT IT’s recovery expertise will give customers a simpler route to identify and recover eligible VAT across multiple jurisdictions.”
