Deze gids biedt een overzicht van de btw in Griekenland, inclusief de geldende tarieven, registratievereisten, nalevingsverplichtingen en indieningstermijnen. Hij is bedoeld voor bedrijven die transacties uitvoeren binnen Griekenland.
Tijdens de financiële crisis waren btw-verhogingen een kernvoorwaarde van de reddingsovereenkomsten van de EU.
Buitenlandse bedrijven die btw betalen over in aanmerking komende uitgaven in Griekenland, kunnen deze mogelijk terugvorderen.
Doet u zaken in Griekenland? Dan moet u zich houden aan de regels van de Griekse btw-wet.
Bedrijven waarvan de belastbare omzet hoger is dan de verplichte registratiedrempel, zijn verplicht zich te registreren. Bedrijven die onder de drempel blijven, kunnen zich vrijwillig registreren.
Griekenland past btw toe op digitale diensten op basis van de locatie van de consument, waarbij het OSS-systeem wordt gebruikt voor grensoverschrijdende diensten binnen de EU.
Bedrijven kunnen in aanmerking komen voor een btw-teruggave in Griekenland voor uitgaven, waaronder, maar niet beperkt tot, brandstof (indien gekocht voor wederverkoop) en toegang tot beurzen en tentoonstellingen, waaronder conferenties en vakbeurzen. Btw voor Griekenland kan niet worden teruggevorderd voor de volgende soorten uitgaven: het huren van vervoermiddelen; voertuigkosten (met uitzondering van brandstof, die wel kan worden teruggevorderd); tolgelden; taxi's en openbaar vervoer; accommodatie; eten, drinken en restaurantdiensten en entertainment.
De verwerkingstijd voor een btw-teruggave in Griekenland kan variëren. Bedrijven die een btw-teruggave in Griekenland aanvragen, kunnen rekenen op een verwerkingstijd van enkele maanden tot een jaar, afhankelijk van de complexiteit van de aanvraag en de nauwkeurigheid van de ingediende documenten.
BTW-teruggaven in Griekenland kunnen per kwartaal en per jaar worden aangevraagd, maar de aanvraagperiodes voor BTW-teruggaven in Griekenland mogen elkaar niet overlappen.
