Deze gids biedt een overzicht van de btw in Slovenië, inclusief de geldende tarieven, registratievereisten, nalevingsverplichtingen en indieningstermijnen. Hij is bedoeld voor bedrijven die transacties uitvoeren binnen Slovenië.
Slovenië heeft de btw begin jaren 2000 kortstondig afgeschaft, maar heeft deze vervolgens weer ingevoerd om aan de EU-regels te voldoen.
Buitenlandse bedrijven die btw betalen over in aanmerking komende uitgaven in Slovenië, kunnen deze mogelijk terugvorderen.
Doet u zaken in Slovenië? Dan moet u zich houden aan de regels van de wet op de belasting over de toegevoegde waarde (ZDDV-1).
Bedrijven die onder de drempel vallen, hoeven zich niet te registreren, maar kunnen ervoor kiezen om zich vrijwillig te registreren.
Slovenië past btw toe op digitale diensten op basis van de locatie van de consument, waarbij in het algemeen gebruik wordt gemaakt van het OSS-systeem voor grensoverschrijdende diensten binnen de EU.
De btw op de volgende uitgaven kan worden teruggevraagd in een Sloveense btw-teruggave: taxi- en openbaarvervoerskosten, toegang tot beurzen en tentoonstellingen en andere algemene zakelijke uitgaven (bijv. honoraria van professionals).
Een aanvraag voor btw-teruggave in Slovenië wordt doorgaans binnen enkele maanden afgehandeld, maar deze termijn kan worden verlengd als de Sloveense btw-autoriteit aanvullende informatie van de aanvrager vraagt. De aanvrager of zijn aangewezen vertegenwoordiger kan contact opnemen met de Sloveense btw-autoriteit om te informeren naar de status van de aanvraag voor btw-teruggave in Slovenië.
Voor btw-teruggaven in Slovenië op grond van de 8e richtlijn zijn originele kwitanties en facturen niet vereist en kunnen fotokopieën worden ingediend. Voor btw-teruggaven in Slovenië op grond van de 13e richtlijn zijn echter originele facturen vereist.
