Een entiteit kan doorgaans de btw in Noorwegen terugvragen voor de volgende uitgaven als onderdeel van een Noorse btw-teruggave: taxi- en openbaarvervoerkosten, accommodatie, toegangskaarten voor beurzen en tentoonstellingen, voertuigkosten (inclusief brandstof) voor niet-personenauto's en andere algemene zakelijke uitgaven (bijv. kantoorkosten, marketingkosten enz.).
De verwerkingstijd voor een btw-teruggave in Noorwegen kan variëren. Bedrijven die btw terugvragen in Noorwegen kunnen rekenen op een verwerkingstijd van enkele maanden tot een jaar, afhankelijk van de complexiteit van de aanvraag en de nauwkeurigheid van de ingediende gegevens. Het is belangrijk om op te merken dat alleen entiteiten die niet in Noorwegen zijn gevestigd en die geen btw-registratie in Noorwegen hebben (en dus geen btw-nummer in Noorwegen hebben) in aanmerking komen voor een btw-teruggave in Noorwegen.
Bij een aanvraag voor teruggaaf van Noorse btw moeten originele facturen worden overlegd. Alleen in specifieke gevallen zijn kopieën of scans van facturen toegestaan.
